Q&A with Neil
When did you begin your fitness journey?
I stepped into a school gym at 15, but I took it more seriously during college and university when I had more time. My first fitness modeling competition at university marked a turning point, where I deepened my focus on training and nutrition.
What is your greatest achievement in fitness?
- Overcoming obesity and low confidence to become a healthier, more confident person.
- Making fitness a priority, improving all areas of my life.
- Competing in a fitness modeling competition in London.
- Participating in a fitness gym photoshoot.
- Educating numerous clients with accurate, effective fitness and nutrition advice.
How has investing in a fitness journey helped you in other areas of your life?
Fitness has transformed my appearance and performance while significantly boosting my confidence. Beyond physical changes, it’s strengthened my mental resilience, reshaping how I view life in a positive way.
What do you bring to Physique Academy?
- Five years of hands-on coaching experience on the gym floor.
- A results-driven approach, pushing clients to unlock their full potential.
- A strong emphasis on nutrition, recognizing its critical role in success.
- A commitment to creating balanced, enjoyable lifestyles tailored to each client’s preferences.
Why should people join Physique Academy?
Our team of passionate coaches brings extensive experience, knowledge, and attention to detail. We’re approachable, having been in our clients’ shoes, which makes us uniquely effective at helping them succeed.
What advice would you give to people starting their fitness journey?
Invest in a coach who’s been through it before—it saves time and sets you up for success. Embrace the journey, trust your coach, trust the process, and believe in yourself. Our proven methods deliver results.
What’s the best thing about being a part of Physique Academy?
Witnessing everyone—clients and coaches—strive to better themselves daily. The supportive community at Physique Academy feels like a family, all working toward shared goals.
What is your favorite style of training?
Bodybuilding and weightlifting are my favorites. I love lifting heavy weights and the structure it brings to my training.
What does your daily routine look like?
- Morning: Start with a large pint of water.
- Throughout the Day: Consume 3–4 large meals (high protein and carbs) and 1–2 high-protein/carb snacks to stay fueled.
- Daytime: Work with clients, get fresh air, and complete a 40–60-minute training session.
Why are routine and discipline important to you?
Routine makes the day more productive and purposeful. I’m old-school—I use pen and paper to plan tasks and ensure they get done, keeping my focus sharp.
Have you ever had a setback from training, and how did you make a comeback?
I’ve faced a lower back injury and a quad injury. These are temporary setbacks in the bigger picture. Resting, recovering, and incorporating full-body sports massages have been key, especially for weightlifters, to avoid worsening injuries.
