Q&A with Jamie
When did you begin your fitness journey?
I started training at 16 due to a lack of physical development needed for football, sparking my passion for fitness.
What is your greatest achievement in fitness?
Placing top 3 in the Junior BNBF Manchester bodybuilding show at 18 and being invited to the British finals stands as my proudest moment.
How has investing in a fitness journey helped you in other areas of your life?
Training has been transformative beyond physical appearance. It boosted my confidence, aiding in job interviews, education, and social interactions.
What do you bring to Physique Academy?
As an online coach with Physique Academy, I help clients avoid the mistakes I made. I focus on understanding individual motivations, recognizing that everyone’s journey is unique.
Why should people join Physique Academy?
Physique Academy offers a bespoke, technically advanced approach to fitness. Diet and training plans are tailored to each client’s measurements and needs, ensuring optimal, individualized results.
What advice would you give to people starting their fitness journey?
Enjoy the process! Don’t fixate solely on the end goal—appreciate the physical and mental progress you make along the way.
What’s the best thing about being a part of Physique Academy?
The ability to positively impact clients’ lives in ways that go beyond physical changes. Helping clients reach their potential and apply lessons from their fitness journey to everyday life is incredibly rewarding.
What is your favorite style of training?
While I don’t limit myself to one style, I enjoy CrossFit the most. It complements my sports activities and keeps me functionally at my best.
What does your daily routine look like?
- Morning: Start with a 20–25-minute HIIT cardio workout, followed by my first meal.
- Midday: Work until 12:00 PM, have a meal, and spend time with family and my dog.
- Afternoon/Evening: Work until 5:00 PM, have a snack, then complete a 1-hour main workout followed by a post-workout shake. Two hours later, I eat a meal rich in carbs, protein, and vegetables.
- Night: Address messages or catch up on work, have a final meal at 10:00 PM, and then rest.
Why are routine and discipline important to you?
Routine and discipline provide structure, enabling efficient task completion and planning. This approach frees up time for enjoyment while maintaining an organized, purposeful lifestyle.
Have you ever had a setback from training, and how did you make a comeback?
Setbacks are part of fitness, especially in competitive sports. My biggest challenge was during lockdown when training facilities were unavailable. I adapted by restructuring my training style and routine, which improved my stamina and muscle endurance while maintaining muscle mass and low body fat.
